Cherries Galore!

Ever since I had some super fresh Marlborough cherries before Christmas I have longed for more, but all I could get were over-priced, dry ones with brittle stalks. Yesterday I was pleased to see a bin of reasonably priced ones that looked nice. Others were attracted too, and I had to wait while they dragged their fingers through the cherries, tossing back anything they didn’t like. As I waited I noticed a small stack of cherry boxes. I surreptitiously opened the top one and peeped in. Oh joy! Big fat juicy cherries from Central Otago! Two kilos for $12! The cheapest I have seen them this season was $10 for one kilo. I hope I don’t get sick of them before they are done.
