Wind and Water

Britain's second longest and second oldest Grade II listed pier at Southport is 3600ft long and dates back to 1860 making it the oldest surviving iron Pier.

This sculpture, at the end of the pier, was erected as part of the pier's refurbishment in 2004 and is themed around wind and water. Believe me there was plenty of wind today, although the rain held off and as always at Southport, the sea is some distance away.

Claimed for 2012 challenge 'modern' for week January 22nd
