Shiny spheres

On such a dull day - and such an extremely wet day too at one point - scenic pictures don't look so good, so I had to go hunting out the detail.

This is a seed head of the False Castor Oil plant, Fatsia japonica. This plant was in the glasshouse until a few weeks ago, which probably helped to ripen those luscious black berries!

Easily seen that it's in the ivy family, Araliaceae!
