Iconic buildings

[Back-blipped on Friday, 23rd]

It's the weekend!! And we had the first team lunch of the year on account of Swati marking 9 years with the company. I wanted to post a picture from that; but then saw this image which G took as we drove home after spending the evening with a friend; and as it is a bit of history for Dubai, it has won.

As I've said before, it is the 20th anniversary of Dubai Shopping Festival and the celebrations are more than normal. We discovered that the road that comes from the airport has bigger lights on the side than other areas and G managed to capture this as we drove past! It is pretty much SOOC - only a little cropping done.

Glad we took this picture yesterday as I woke up this morning (Friday) to news of the King of Saudi Arabia passing away, and as a period of mourning of three days has been declared, all these lights have been switched off! We also have classical music on the radio stations for the duration and no fountain show at Dubai Mall either.
