Bicycle parking in Montreal

Winter cyclists in Montreal are very brave to take on both the cold and the lumpy bumpy icy roads. Some are rather scary to drivers though as they weave and dart in unpredictable ways so that they can move quickly through the traffic.

This bike chained to a car parking metre along the side of a busy street in Montreal reminded me of our winter last year in Amsterdam. I could not help but think about the contrast between the two cities. In the Netherlands the infrastructure and the weather were much better for cycling and parking along the canal bridges made for romantic photographs.
