The Disreputable Dog

One of my favorite series of books by Garth Nix - Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen revolves around a fantasy world where the Abhorsen struggles to keep the dead, dead.  This is not Walking Dead land but a much more complex and entertaining world.  One of the characters in the 2nd & 3rd book is 'The Disreputable Dog' a magic being constructed from a statue into a real dog who talks and has special talents.  The books are narrated by Tim Curry who has such an incredible talent for creating voices for the books and who injects so much humor into them.  The Disreputable Dog and Mogget the talking cat are enemies of sorts who join together to help their Mistresses.  I found this little statue years ago and have always considered him my Disreputable Dog.  I highly recommend listening to the audio books.
