Desert Orchid

Clare and I had lunch today at the spectacular Panoramic Restaurant at Kempton Park.

Three ranks of tables rise in terraces giving an uninterrupted view of the horse racing while Tote ladies come round with portable tote machines to take your bets. At £20 each for admission, steak and chips we felt we got a bargain.

My blip is the statue of Desert Orchid that stands in the Kempton paddock as a reminder of his triumphs in the late 1980s.
