FENCING

Another racecourse today - this time Warwick. Races have been run here since 1707. A grand course and plenty of information available for new visitors.
Includes this display showing the type of fences being jumped by the horses.
In the foreground a section of fence and in the background a hurdle. The finer details are given below. Thankfully all were cleared by the horses today.
Fences have a height of 54", with a spread of between 84" and 96" and in an upright position. The birch is contained in a timber frame, with an oak kickboard.
Hurdles are made of birch lashed to an ash frame and have a height of 37", with a spread of 20" and inclined at an angle of 620 .
