Bark
Took my camera for a stroll around Pollok Park, in the hope of getting a suitable blip image for the weekly challenge 'patterns of nature'.
As it was a bit damp, it was mostly just dog walkers in the park, so there were not too many people to worry about as I kept going off the path to take closeups of the trees. There were quite a few species, including beech, horse chestnut, ash, yew, and sycamore though it was hard to tell what they were without leaves.
I had over twenty pictures to choose from when I got back, but I chose this one as I liked the pattern and the depth of colour, brought out by the rain. I think its a Scots Pine.
I've loaded a few onto Flickr if you want to see some of the others, including this one that I played around with on Photoshop to get an abstract image which I quite liked. However I thought this unmanipulated pattern was better for the challenge.
