A view from St Swithin

Provost Skene's House

This is the most talked about building in the granite city at the moment . Provost Skene's House dates from 1545 and Provost Skene lived here in 1669. Its one of the last  remaining bits of the old medieval burgh of Aberdeen and for years was hidden away behind the old council multi storey office . This has now been demolished revealing Provost Skene's house in all its glory . Unfortunately we'd better make the most of the current view as plans are afoot for a large scale office development in the area essentially blocking off all views of this lovely building . Yet again the Council is destroying any sensible ideas for city centre regeneration - something its being dong now for years .
