Mudeford Quay to Milford on Sea

Walked from Mudeford Quay to Milford on Sea………………….  And back again.

Beautiful day for a long walk.  …………..But sometimes Ann lies to me??!!

This morning, after a quick play on the beach at Bournemouth, Ann said, ‘Molly, we’ll drive to Mudeford Quay & then we’ll walk to Milford on Sea, have lunch and then we’ll walk back.  I think it will be about 8 miles, so including lunch it’ll probably take us about 4-5 hours.’

Best laid plans & all that!  We had to do a bit of a long inland detour because apparently part of the cliff had crumbled into the sea.  So it actually took us 3 hours to get to Milford on Sea.  And then when we got there Ann said, ‘Molly I’m not really very hungry she’d had a huge cooked breakfast, shall we just have a drink of water, a rest for 10 mins and then walk back?

Sometimes I think Ann forgets how old I am (I’m more than 70 in human years!).  I’d just settled down for my rest when she said, ‘Come on Molly, it’s 1.30pm, we’ll have to start walking back otherwise we won’t finish our walk in daylight.’

Fabulous weather, beautiful scenery, fantastic walk…………………  But we’re both totally exhausted now.  And Ann’s just checked how far we’ve walked……………..

18 MILES???!!!

Can’t see either of us doing much tonight.  We’ve another long walk to do tomorrow???!!!
