Male Greenfinch

I ventured to an area that I had not been to since a Child.
  It was once a Railway track to the Midlands from Bristol now converted to a Cycle Track since the closure by Beeching  in the 60's.
  I always remembered it teaming with birds? Finches of every species you could wish for!
    What a pleasant surprise to be greeted by a small family group,up high in a tree on a sunny morning walk some 60 years later?
   Their song is really clear and I'm sure I remember Canary breeders,crossing them to improve the song of the Canary?I was happy just to hear the Green finch song!
