The beach, brought home
Today has been a frustrating one. When I woke I couldn't hear the normal roar of the Rayburn as it guzzles oil to keep us warm. An investigation pointed to a dead oil pump. I toured around Kirkwall, eventually finding a man who could supply me with a pump. I fitted it and was about to head out for a walk with the dogs when I realised that the heating was not working. I refitted the old pump and fiddled around with some other things and actually got the heating running. For a whole hour. The pump is now seized solid and the house is cold.
My beautiful fiancée brought home a bit of the beach for me, since I haven't had the chance to photograph anything at all. I like these little casts on a kelp leaf.
