The Bishop that came to tea

Today Bishop Peter, Bishop of Barking came to Holy Trinity Barkingside to bless the nursey. A short service led by Stuart the vicar was followed by a blessing and lots of flicking of holy water around the nursery.

Karen, the manager, gave us an insight into a day in the life of sparrows and taught everyone in the congregation the Sparrows song.

After lunch the nursery held an open day and there was a steady stream of families coming in, checking out the facilities and registering there children to start.

I think Bishop Peter enjoyed a cup of tea in the home corner, digging in the sand pit and the playing in the ball pool.

A lot of people put in so much hard work to make today a sucess and it was wondeful to share our Sparrows vision with the church community and parents.
