Minsmere in May
I've blipped several times before with shots from Minsmere but this is by far the trickiest shot. It was incredibly difficult getting this Common Tern in the frame as it hovered looking for food. Amazing watching it fishing though.
Wasn't planning on going to Minsmere today but plans fell through this morning so decided to salvage something from the day. Minsmere is looking beautiful at the moment with bluebells in the woods.
Very glad I went down as had amazing views of Bitterns flying - 3 at once! We were then treated to 20 minutes of one in the reeds in front of the hide. I'm afraid my photos aren't that great. My lens is nowhere near big enough.

Also spent quite a while watching a pair of Marsh Tits flying in and out of their nest. Again, apologies for the poor quality shot but they move so quickly.
Finally, Minsmere has been having a bit of a makeover during the last few months. This is one of the new amenities aimed at children. There is a fabulous discovery zone which encourages them to get involved with nature at their own level. Brilliant!
