Anxious, Hopeful, Waiting

This handsome fellow had such a soulful expression as he waited anxiously at the door for his people to return. His ears would prick up hopefully with each shopper's exit until finally, a couple, adorned with chains almost as thick and heavy as their dog's, came out to fetch him.
