Matryoshka Dolls

In 1890, the first Matryoshka Dolls were produced by woodcarver Vasily Zvyozdochkin and designer Sergey Maliutin. They have since gone on the become a major tourist purchase for visitors to Russia.

We got our set from neighbours who went home to Russia on holiday a few years ago.
