Fallen Camellia

Camellias are blooming all over Filoli right now.  We have a diverse population of them and their beauty is everywhere.  

California is now in another drought mode - no rain the whole month of January - first time ever since recorded weather history.  Yes, we got a lot of rain in December and things seemed hopeful for a return to normal weather patterns for us.  However, no rain in January and none forecasted will definitely be a problem.  As he days are a bit warmer and drier than normal, all the plants and trees seemed to be going through a false bloom.  Even birds are showing signs of spring plumage.
