Echoes and Dandelions
Had to do a few errands late afternoon and being on the edge of the Dales thought I'd blip something Dales-ish.
I likes the lines in the earth and walls in this shot. I think these lines are old strip framing, probably crop growing. This land has evidence of farming since neolithic times and the begining of marking boundaries dates from Bronze and Iron age. It's interesting to look at the walls and other markings and see the representation of societies down the ages. Walls at times asserting territory and power, at other times around settlements large expansive fields that were farmed by communities in a communal effort.
I like that in this simple pretty image that there are echoes of the ages if only we stop and look and think. I wonder if we think a bit more what it could teach us.
