Another day, another awesome beach!

This morning I decided to explore the other side of the little peninsular and see what those beaches had to offer.... lots of surfers!

After sitting for a while I decided to snap some of the guys..... the one pictured here is a guy called Shaun. He came out of the water at one point and asked me the time and we had a little chat. Can't believe how friendly people are in New Zealand :-)

Really wish I'd brought my bodyboard with me - I'll need to remember next time!!

Later in the afternoon I headed south a bit towards Papamoa beach - gorgeous sandy beach! Didn't make it to the proper beach as I was looking for a bit of peace and quiet (in contrast to yesterday's plethora of families). I parked up beside a boardwalk to the beach and headed over.
I soon discovered that this was the nudist part of the beach which definitely explained why there were so few people around. It's been quite a number of years since I went topless sunbathing on the Med so I figured..... when in Rome!
