The boy, his bike and the boat
What with poor Mr Moff stricken with what certainly sounded like Real Flu (not manflu) the photowalk that we'd risen especially early for (no, don't feel bad Andy, it was a lovely day and worth getting up for) was cancelled. I tried to steer things to a different kind of outing but failed so it was out to the garden for some dramatic hacking of hedges and shrubs now trees.
The hedge is a pain in the arse, having entwined itself around and old chickenwire fence, which has now fallen over taking up a good three feet of veggie beds. A radical solution was needed (but not my first suggestion, which was to set fire to it in situ) so I spent ages cutting through the hedge, clipping the wire, sawing the supports and pulling away sections of hedge. I'll burn them next week. Then we'll have more vegetable beds to neglect.
Ewan's been away at Cub Camp high fiving Bear Grylls and getting muddy so I picked him up and brought him home. Although he was knackered, he was still keen to take his new bike for its inaugural run. Where else but the boat, crumbling more now.
