Burns Day
It’s almost a year to the day since we last went for a walk at Pressmennan Wood. I think we have only ever walked there in winter, on grey days and when it is gloriously muddy. The walk by the lake is nice, but walking amongst the trees, along the muddy tracks with only the odd snatched view, albeit across to North Berwick Law and the Bass Rock, makes for a bit of a tedious walk. I think we will have to make a point of going at a different time of year. That said, BB had a great time and didn’t complain once. It’s amazing the amount of fun to be had with a stick! The lake was partly frozen and BB also had great fun trying to break the ice by throwing stones. He didn’t succeed!
It was then home for ( vegetarian) haggis, neeps and tatties. BB insisted on addressing the haggis (which he read from TT’s iPad) and then on reciting the Selkirk Grace – which he had learned at school a couple of years ago.
While trudging up the hill track we came across a tree adorned with messages and ribbons. I liked this coin which had been tied on. I think it is Danish.
