Be Obscene
You already know how much of an inspiration Marilyn Manson is to me... How could you not? I talk about his religiously. Anyway, on friday, i seen him for the second time (at the Electric Factory in Philly), and honestly, i fell in love all over again. The thing is, I dont usually listen to the music of the bands im going to see about 2 weeks before the show. Not for any reason in particular, thats just how it plays out.
My philospohy is that if you hurt everywhere after a show, or if you just get into a kick of listening to the band for two years straight, thats when you know it was good. Each time i seen Manson, thats exactly what happened. Its four days later and every inch of my body hurts, and i've been listening to Manson non stop.
Marilyn Manson is popular because of his stage shows, but since he was playing a relitively small venue, there wasnt much of a show, meaning that there wasnt large costume changes... Dont get me wrong, it was a performance, but he didnt stand at a large podeum ripping pages out of the bible, nor was he dressed as a pope.. if that makes any sense?
Even though the first time seeing him was amazing, i think this time around was slightly better (minus the fact that the PA turnpike was unplowed and a 2 hour trip home turned into 5 hours). It was better because i met his dad, Hugh outside of the venue, and he played one of my all time favorite songs as his final encore; Coma White (off of Mechanical Animals).
I dont want to make this a novel, ask me about it!
