Lacewing
This Lacewing should be hibernating, but it's been very active for a few days now around a warm window sill. I'm very grateful as it's given me a chance to try out a new lighting set-up I've invented for photographing small creatures with even lighting. It is inside a small semi-opaque plastic dish, dismantled from a very cheap desk light, with two LED hobby lights positioned on the outside. Now I know this works reasonably well, the next stage is to position two small flashguns on a rig outside the white plastic 'cave', get a much stronger light and thus a greater depth of field - ready for all those moths in the spring!
