Priceless

At an eBay auction last week a single bulb of Galanthus placates "Humpty Dumpty" sold for £195. In 2012 a single mutant snowdrop bulb with yellow markings instead of the usual green sold for £750.

The ones shown above in the hedgerow of a country lane to me are priceless. No doubt in London Squares heated by the surrounding buildings, daffodils and crocuses are already showing colour. But my spirits are raised by these little clumps which every year announce that the wonderful display of English wild flowers is about to start all over again.
