Woodland walk

I walked through Shire Hill Wood this morning on a higher path and found more birds than expected for the season including Bullfinch.

On the next section of my walk to the moorland I met a retired gatekeeper. We had a long chat about his experiences and found we had more in common than may have been expected not least a high regard for the late Derek Yalden.
