An afternoon out with freespiral and himself looking at ringforts in the area, there are about fifteen on the peninsula and some are more accessible than others, this one at Ahakista, which translates to 'the fort of the spears' was quite large but too overgrown to get onto it. 
At a smaller ring fort at Letter West we met a local man we both know and he was able to give us lots of local knowledge, always much appreciated.
