Lovely light

A nice day today. Did some work this morning and ordered some new furniture/decor for our bedroom. Our cheap furniture is falling apart and is worse than useless, so it's high time we got something more functional. So we've got a wardrobe and drawers on order and whilst I was feeling motivated, I also ordered some new bedding and curtains. Nothing extravagant, but it will make the world of difference to our cluttered bedroom.

This afternoon, I went for a walk, having not left the house in days. It was dull when I set off, but the light got better for a short period of time. I saw lots of birds, including robins and song thrush, but the highlight was a kingfisher, which flew down the canal, then turned round and flew back towards me. It was flying at the speed of light and I had a 50mm on my camera, so there was no chance of capturing it, but I was pretty chuffed none the less. I took a few images along the way, but today's blip is actually the first image I shot. I'm not sure what the plant is, but I liked the way the back lighting made it glow.

Just awaiting hubby's arrival so we can cook chilli bean squid for tea.
