Holocaust Memorial Day

Today, as I'm sure you know, is Holocaust Memorial Day, this year commemorating 70 years since the liberation of Auschwitz.  For the last few years Winchester Cathedral has hosted ''Space for Peace' on this day.  It's an amazing event, whatever your faith (or no faith) and the community choir I sing with has taken part from the start.  The choir is singing again this year, but unfortunately I shan't be with them so at lunchtime I slipped into the cathedral to honour the day in blip and to light a candle.

The Cathedral is going through some massive building work currently, so I wanted to choose a shot that showed this (see the boards above the choir stalls).  Eventually this means that its  treasures (eg the amazing Winchester Bible, one volume of which is currently on display at the Met in New York) will be properly - and accessibly - displayed at ground level.

Love and best wishes to all who will be there tonight, and a good evening to all you lovely blippers  xx

PS Other blippers in our choir include Redflash and HalfwayUpAHill
