Blue Peter

This guy is the producer of Blue Peter and I really didn't expect to meet him today.

I was booked yesterday to photograph behind the scenes of 'Strictly come dancing' this morning at BBC Television Centre. On the way back home to edit I got a call from my Art Director telling me they were setting up a special stage outside to celebrate Blue Peter's 50th birthday 'and we've just got to shoot it... it's too good to miss'.

So back I went to photograph informal shots of production crew and presenters in rehearsal.

This portrait wasn't really in my brief but he has the most remarkable blue eyes I've ever seen... and also too good to miss.

A slight downside to today however. I went to meet my friend Susana at the Horticultural Halls for a showcase called 'Le Book' and was denied entry. I had registered online but had not received confirmation. When I was asked for my business card and gave them one which said photographer, I was told bluntly "We don't admit talent".

What a double edged statement that is. It's the first time I've been described as 'talent', but also the first time I've been denied entry to one of these things.

In future I shall carry my old designer business cards with me too.
