Culverts for Kids

We've had some friends staying with us this weekend and have had a fab, fairly full on, couple of days. Highlights of the weekend included the kids all making cardboard guitars (and playing them non-stop) and tubing down the dry ski slope (will back blip a photo of this later when the computer comes alive again).

After our friends headed off on their long journey back home, we took our tired and slightly fractious boys out for a bit of sunshine and fresh air in the local forest.

They boys noticed the path went over a burn and since they had their wellies on decided to tramp across and through it rather crossing the culverted section. Of course that meant it wasnt long before they were scrambling through the pipe, under the path and not long before the little one slipped and fell into the burn getting completely soaked. After that it was just a hop, skip and a jump and he was stripped down to his t-shirt and pants and we were back in the car and on the way home for tea with a pile of wet muddy clothes.

Just as well we had only planned a short trip out!
