Blue velvet sky

I took a detour after work today and walked along the terrace that looks onto Victoria St and took this picture. I came across and information board there, I didn't realize that Victoria street and Johnston Terrace are a relatively new edition to Edinburgh. These streets replaced the West bow, a steep lane that made the journey from the Grassmarket to the Lawnmarket very difficult. I've provided a link here Victoria St. Creation
I was drawn to the beautiful colour of the sky intensified against the artificial light in the street.
