Police Scotland year 2, day 268 - getting to know

Name: PC Cameron

Day-to-day policing role: As an operational police dog handler I work with my general purpose police dog Ella, a 3-year-old German Shepherd. I use Ella to track and search for vulnerable missing people and criminals trying to evade capture. We are trained to support officers for large scale disorder incidents and to provide support for armed officers at firearms incidents across Scotland. The dog section provide 24 hour support to operational officers who require our specialist assistance.

I also work a specialist search dog Izzy, a 9-year-old working cocker spaniel, and she's trained to locate drugs, cash and firearms. We are regularly deployed to search or scan at high profile events such as T in the Park.
