Rembrance Day Parade

This is another photo taken at Remembrance Day in Gettysburg. For reenactors, Remembrance Day is a very busy day. We have to wake up very early in the morning to be down in Gettysburg before it gets really packed. We usually attend some of the ceremonies around the battlefield and the cemetery throughout the morning, then report to the Gettysburg High School to line up for the parade. The Gettysburg Remembrance Day Parade is the largest American Civil War parade in the world. Reenactors from around the country show up to honor the men that died throughout the entire war. This picture shows our unit, Coopers Battery B, marching past the Lincoln Train Museum. Apart from just our reenacting unit, some of the men closest to the camera in the outer row are descendants from actual soldiers in the battery. My face can be seen on the left in the background between two of the descendants. The third man in the second row from the front had the longest journey of all of us. He is from Ontario, Canada, and has been reenacting with us for about two years. Since he has so far to drive we do not get to see him often, but it is a pleasure when we do.
