A bite at a time!

This is the Whitevale Flats. They were at one point reputed to be the tallest flats in Europe. Like many of Glasgow's tower blocks there time is now up but rather than being blown up these buildings are being "consumed" from the top down, brick by brick. 

Interesting fact: Each block has a hydraulic mechanism in the base. This is used to counteract swaying in high winds due to the excessive height of the buildings.
