Mrs Mallard waddled along the jetty for a while allowing me to get about a dozen shots before she finally took the plunge. 

I'd wanted to go to Keswick today but with snow forecast I had second thoughts. The snow came but it was horrible wet stuff which didn't lie. I did my usual low level walk to Waterhead in the afternoon and it brightened up as I arrived. More snow is forecast and the weather warning has just been upgraded to amber.
