Twins

Juno and Jen were twins. As children they experienced some of the fabled "twin things"... When Juno had appendicitis, Jen was in agony and Juno was able to lead people to her sister when Jen was lost on the beach. But, as they became teenagers, the phenomena gradually stopped.

Their lost "superpowers" became part of the family mythology and, in time, became something of an in-joke. They each married - to two quite different men - and had children. Juno produced two girls (not twins) who bracketed Jen's boy. They lived in different cities.

Jen's husband died, quite suddenly, just as Juno and Mark were divorcing. And, shortly afterwards, the various children left home - Sally and Ben to University whilst Amy joined the Army.

In her early fifties, Juno had quite a bad car accident. When Jen heard about it, she realised that it had coincided with a sudden pain of her own and, despite the worry about her sister, she was glad that the connection had been re-established.
