Stove surgery

The back boiler leak got too bad to ignore, so we let the fire go out, turned on some electric heaters and got ready for a cold snap.

Today Owen and I disconnected the flue and got stuck into the dirty, cramped work of extracting the boiler. Amazingly, the new one arrived while we were having lunch, so we got to install it.

The job's not quite over. There was a slight crack in the top plate, so I took that down to the blacksmiths to see if it could be welded. Hopefully it'll be running again tonight.
