Above the clouds- Mount Teide

This is the highest point in Tenerife and in fact the highest point is Spain. It is over 12,000 feet - 3718 metres. We went from sea level to almost 12,000 feet in an hour and a half. I got altitude sickness! An amazing sight- the surrounding volcanic area is well worth seeing if you go to Tenerife- volcanoes, fumroles (places where sulphur fumes are emitted)  and a caldera. It is a World Heritage Site.
