The Cotton Building....

With Manchester's economy growing strongly again, the pace of building in the city is, likewise, growing. They are about to finish off Spinningfields. The last two sites in the area are being worked on. Quay House, on the side of Hardman Square, is about to bite the dust to be replaced by a new skyscraper. And the lawn between the Royal Bank of Scotland building and the Civil Justice Centre is being built on in a project called The Cotton Building.

There's not a lot to see above ground but if you go and look there is a very impressive hole that will be filled with the subfloors. The crane has arrived as well. But it looks like two here as it's reflected in the vast glass wall of the CJC. I seem to remember that, when the CJC was built this glass wall, uninterrupted by any glazing bars, was the largest of its type in the world.
