Exchanges at the Frontier

Tonight I attended a talk at the Wellcome Collection with AC Grayling and neuroscientist Ray Dolan - discussing decision making and the brain. Fascinating stuff. Apparently we learn by feeling surprise when something doesn't happen the way we expect it to: surprise is the learning signal and it triggers a rush of feelgood dopamine to the brain. The talk was being recorded for BBC Worldwide, also fascinating to watch.
