Posh dinner
The lovely Lottie Dog came up with me to bed last night and lay beside me with her head on the spare pillow. I loved it. So did she. She was nice and warm too! However, she abandoned me for her 'dad's' room about 1am so at least I got to spread out more...
P from next door took Lottie out with another dog and his owners today so they had a great run around together. Lucky her.
Work was rather bitty with several meetings punctuating the day which meant I couldn't really concentrate on a couple of large tasks I've got.
The first snow storm of the year over lunch, caused much distraction and noise in the open plan but I firmly told everyone it would have gone by 5pm, as I'd checking the detailed weather on BBC last night. They didn't believe me. I put a tenner on it. I was right. Smug face :)
This evening, while L prepared a proper three course dinner, I was banished to my room. Fine by me. L invited another friend from his work. Another large dinner... this is not doing my new year eating any good! We had a delicious seared fillet steak, cauliflower and horseradish starter, followed by a posh version of calf's liver, onions and mash. Though the liver was a teeny bit underdone for me it was still delicious. There was homemade creme brûlée for pudding. It was a tad over cooked but I loved it. I am going to need to get out and do some exercise at the weekend...
I've left the chaps to carry on their boring motorbike, work and money chat with the port and I'm having a relaxed evening in bed.
