Winter Sunset Duo

Our friend B, who got me started in photography nearly 50 years ago and has been my mentor over the years, came up this afternoon for an overnight visit. Phil had a meeting to attend, so B and I went to Squalicum Harbor to look for photos and for me to practice more advanced techniques with my Olympus E-M 10.

We were blessed with another sunny, mild January afternoon, and although there were no obliging clouds to make the sunset as spectacular as Tuesday's, I found the sky's changing color against the complex rigging of the commercial fishing boats very appealing. I had a difficult time deciding on my blip, dithering back and forth between the image you see here and this one. Which one do you prefer?
