A man and his horse.

The man is Tommy Waara and the horse is Te One. Tommy Waara  is an exceptional horseman who trains wild horses by a gentle  "horse whisperer" style .He is a man who has been around horses all his life and his methods very quickly win the respect of the horses and he can do almost anything with them. "Te One" was running wild in the Kaimanawa ranges a few months ago and Tommy got him as part of a controlled mustering process to keep the number of the wild horses at a number which does not over-graze this high country tussockland. I was part of a photography group visiting the area to see some of the horses. What Tommy has done with this horse is just amazing .After only 5 months in captivity it is very,very quiet and calm and obedient.It was a privilege to see the trust  between this man and horse.
