Grebe in a Circle
I haven't been to Nanpantan with a camera in quite a while. Pale winter sunshine, and the birds are swimming about. Not as many seagulls as I have seen.
This young grebe in winter plumage was keeping to the reeds at the western end of the reservoir. A pair of grebes has taken over the eastern end. If last year was anything to go by, this bird will be chased off as the mating season proceeds.
Am delighted to report that my poorly knee seems to be making a swift recovery. It still twinges, but I was able to walk round the reservoir with a stick.
