Winter Buds

I went into the garden thinking I'd blip a shot of snow or ice patterns, but came across this tiny red shoot sticking an inch or two out of the thin layer of snow; the buds are only 1-2mm across. So I decided a macro shot of this could look quite nice. It needed focus stacking but I chose to restrict this to the top section so that the stem fades into a blur. My macro lights were a good help in supplementing the daylight to give highlights on the buds.
