Road Trip
Went this afternoon to get the feeder I bought second hand. It was 100mile round trip with the trailer but worth it. We took most of the dogs and stopped off on the way in the high pass to let the dogs have a play in the snow since we don't have any on our farm. Had to leave old Cuillin behind he hurt his back earlier in the week so hes taking it easy for a few days. Looking a lot better today thankfully. I left Shaw with him for company as she isn't a great fan of traveling but would have loved the snow! The farm we went to to get the feeder is where I sold one of my pups Nel (Pips sister) it was lovely seeing her again. I shouldn't have sold that pup as she is a cracker but you live and learn.
Its been on my mind all day that. I chose the only female red pup from our planned litter from Shaw and Moss. Sadly at 8 weeks old my pup became ill still unsure what it was we nursed her through and she was getting so much better but at 6 months took a sudden turn for the worse and had to be put to sleep. It was one of the hardest things I have had to do. Its not so bad when they have lived a full life but 6 months felt far to young. Anyway she had a nice spoilt time while she was with us. RIP my Lass pup. Pip was going to be a spare dog for us an extra as it were but she has had to fill the paws of Lass. That she has done in her own way.
Husband asked me to check all the cattle were ok after yesterday on my dog walk today so had a good long walk with my lot in the morning and took them all the way to the farm beach. I do love a bit of beach combing and todays find was a totally intact wheelie bin I rolled it off the beach and up the track to a gate and have tied it to the fence and husband will come and bring it back when he puts a new bale in with the cows. It will make a great feed bin.
