Grand Old Lady

She's noted as being a 'Grand Old Lady', Rangiora Town Hall was opened  on 27 May 1926 seating 600 people and included a library and reading room. The Town Hall was celebrated with the presentation of a Landmarks plaque on 27 May 2010.
 
She has been closed since September 2010 due to the earthquakes and has caused much debate round town - should she be strengthened and enlarged to include a performing arts centre or be demolished? It was decided to keep her, strengthen and enlarge. We've watched with interest as the work progressed through the months turning into years and now finally she's into her final stages of being completed, ready to serve a growing community and due to open mid-February. 
 
I've given her a mono touch so as not to reveal the colours until she's all complete and it is mono Monday day and the day kind of suits mono being overcast and cool.

This is also a backblip......time just got away on me......
