Sunlit leavings

I was in Crossville today picking up our meat from the butcher, and since I was so close I took a short hike in Cumberland Mountain State Park.  I have never been there before, and it was beautiful.   The trail was enclosed with wild rhododendron, magnolia and pine; the green was a feast for the eyes. I didn't realize how starved I was for color.  I did take some photos but unfortunately none worth blipping.

This image is the remains of an Oakleaf Hydrangea in my front yard.  If you look large you can see new growth beginning between the two red leaves.
