The Falls of the Little Fawn
Woke up to a winter wonderland it snowed most of yesterday and overnight. Before breakfast I was out taking some photographs, and we built a snowman too!
Had a country dancing session in the morning, then walked into the village and had some lunch. Then a group of us walked up to the David Marshall Lodge on the hill, and the views were stunning from there. We left there on a high track and walked to the falls, then over the bridge and through the forest to Dounan Camp, an outdoors centre, and then back to the hotel. The walk was made stunning by the snow, which was pristine and it is a lovely feeling to be the first people to go through it. I love the way it dulls all the sounds too.
We had a mini Burns Supper tonight at dinner, even though it is a week late. Good speeches and lots of fun. Then we had our last evening of dancing. There is an English group also in the hotel on a coach tour, and they have enjoyed watching the dancing through the open doors, although due to the numbers in the hall we couldn't invite them to dance with us We did however near the end of the night invite them in for one dance, and they enjoyed having a go and we had lots of fun with them.
It has been a great week of fun, dancing and great company, but tomorrow we go home.
